Well, here comes my latest one. Though, starting lines might not seem to be linked to the subject, but by the time you reach the end of this blog, things will fall in place.
Smartness is being sold for just Rs100 by DMRC. If you regularly travel by Delhi Metro, you will be able to guess easily, how it is. For others, I will throw the light on it.
Ohh ! I haven't introduced my self. I am 'Common Local Indian Traveler'. I spend at least 3 hours daily to commute from my home to office and back.
It was a bit different yesterday. It took me 3 and a half hours just to reach my home, after I left from office. Most of the credit goes to India's already exploded population( which is being counter attacked these days by Idea 3G) and has been made smart by DMRC.
Coming back to smartness, DMRC sells smart cards to help us to enter the metro stations and yesterday while I spent more than an hour while standing in line, just to enter the platform, I realized there were at least 250 'SMART PEOPLE' in line, ahead of me. This 250 seemed equivalent to 25 million yesterday. This part, explains ' hatred' to an extent, yet not considering the packed capacity of coach filled with different kinds of odour , numerous delays during the travel etc.
So, amongst the cribbing , jokes and sweat, I stepped into the Metro coach. Actually, I could only step and could not move any forward. There was pushing, verbal duels, ' great Indian Jugaad , to find some place' which kept me and other ' Common Local Indian Traveler' entertained.
As my patience level was fluctuating and my cribbing was at all time high, I suddenly realized , the hidden motive of DMRC behind this. It is the love which DMRC was trying to spread. It made unknown people, friends, while they were standing in queue.
During these times of economic, communal and terror crisis, DMRC literally brought people closer. Inside the coach, everyone could smell his/ her neighbor's breath, read his/ her messages and save him/her from the ' dhakkas '.
My narrow mindedness didn't make me realize all this earlier, but it is better late than never. After , self created hatred , I could see only love all around.
Though, my only suggestion to DMRC is that, let love spread its wings freely. Don't divide humans by reserving the coach for fairer sex. :)

JUXTAPOSED : Emotions & Cricket
Have you ever realized, why Pakistanis kiss the cricket pitch after completing a century or why Sachin Tendulkar raises his hands and bat after his every phenomenal performance ? Or let me ask you this way. Why did Aamir Sohail showed Venky his place in '96 World Cup match and what was all behind Venky's response on the very next ball?
The answer to all such questions is emotions and the role they play on the field.
Emotions go hand in hand with sports. Any sport lets your emotions come out freely but being an avid cricket follower, we will talk about emotions juxtaposed with cricket . The excitement & the rushing adrenaline makes you vent everything out on the field. To win a match for himself and his country is a thing of tremendous pride for a cricketer and these emotions act as a catalyst to help players achieve this goal.
But there is a twist in the tale. These emotions can be of three types.
Firstly, there can be controlled emotions of the likes of Rahul Dravid or
Jacques Kallis, who don't often show it but mostly let their bats do the talking.
After scoring the double hundred( first of his career)at Centurion, Kallis' facial expressions showed how much it meant to him and how much he values it. After being one of the best all rounders of the modern cricket and playing for more than a decade, he achieved this milestone which he must have been waiting for since long.
Another type can be uncontrollable emotions. Remember the slap gate incident in IPL which doesn't really need much explanation or the famous monkey jumps of Javed Miandad, imitating Kiran More, in 1992 World Cup.List can go on and on.
To make things lighter on field, there is a third type, which is humorous emotions.
The incidents which fall under this category are : dance of Sresanth after hitting Andre Nel for a six in S.Africa and the antics of Billy Bowden, the famous trans Tasmania umpire. After all, cricket is not complete without umpires.
To sum it up, I would say , if you follow cricket quite often, you will observe these emotions and they will always keep you attached to it and its this abundance of the emotions which make you fall in love with this beautiful game every single day.

CWG2010, All izz well
Wat a mess, are we in, today,
Though it all started happy n gay...
Tenders rolled out, flyovers were built
But more than Kalmadi ,now we are in guilt.
Big Moolah was spent,Strong promises were made
Now OC is exposed after sting operations & raid
Officials have been fan of race between tortoise & rabbit(slow n steady wins the race)
But completing things at only last moment is our habit.
Fennel came,he too had a laugh
While international media was peeping , with a long neck like giraffe.
Dengue has been rising,terror threats are on a high
Fears are , Indians will cry in shame, till tears run dry.
Still with my optimistic heart, I hope everything goes well
I convince my fellow citizens, "All izz well , All izz well"

The Magician and his Magic Stick
Many of you must have seen a magic show. Commanded by a bloke in black coat
along with a hat( probably as deep as Mariana Trench) on his head.
Of course, this hat has to be that much deep, otherwise how can he pull out a world of things from it and we call it magic.
Some of you might believe it and some of you might not. But there is another magician who never had a hat but performed all the magic with his stick. His name is Major Dhyan chand, the hockey wizard.
Same Major Dhayan chand, on whose name stands the venue of 2010 FIH World Cup. Major Dhyandchand was not just a player, he was a force in himself. A force which when on field, could never be penetrated by the opposition. Who can forget his Invincibles' XI which dominated the world of hockey?
When India was still under the rule of the Britishers, one of the only few things to cheer about was on the trot hockey gold Medals in '28 , '32 and '36 olympics. But today, Indian Hockey is marred by controversies.
Debates ranging from over foreign coach to the captain of the team to monetary benefits not being given to the players, the signs have not been very optimistic over last few years.
The position in which today Hockey India finds itself is not very appreciative.
I always felt that,what West Indies did to their cricket, is what India has done to its hockey.
In this whirlpool, one good thing that has hapened to India is, Hockey World Cup coming to our country.
Its a great time, when the love for the game is re-incarnated among fellow Indians and players get united forgetting all the grudges and leaving the past behind.
It is the time for revival of our hockey, which was nurtured by our great grand fathers and grand fathers.
And after watching India begin their campaign in style with a 4-1 victory over arch rivals, we can see it as a silver lining.
Consistent dominance for 70 mins was displayed by Indians. And as they say, luck favours the brave, two out of three penalty corners directed at India's den by one of the greatest drag flicker ,Sohail Abbas,ricocheted off the cross bar.
Though, its still a long way to go, but we all hope that ,it will be this time. Whatever may be the result of this tournament , a positive frame of mind can ensure a smile on that wizard, wherever he may be in this world.

DOUBLE WHAMMY
5th January ,1971 can be celebrated as Birthday of One Day Cricket. After first three days of 3rd Test of the Ashes series were washed out, officials decided to abandon the test match. Instead, a one day game of 40 overs each side ( 8 ball over) was played between the two historic rivals.Australia won that match comfortably with 5 wickets still safe in pavilion. Since then One Day cricket has seen a lot of transition, from white kits to colored jerseys , from 8 ball over to six ball over and many more.
But today's date i.e. 24th Feb ,2010 will be written in golden letters.
After 39 years of its emergence ,One Day Cricket witnessed its first ever double hundred, & who better than SACHIN TENDULKAR will be privileged to do so.In the meanwhile records of Saeed Anwar and Charles Coventry were also broken.
It is a phenomenal performance from a person who has devoted his life to this beautiful game.
As some one beautifully described the moment of truth saying that even sun will go down only after watching the GOD of CRICKET achieve this miracle, we could only thank Almighty of giving us a chance to be born in SACHIN's era.
Its a blessing that we have been a witness to so many of his amazing knocks.
The sound of ball hitting the middle of SACHIN's timber has always been euphonious.
He has broken virtually every record and but its his humility which has carried him so far and for so long.
There are 12 months left for the KUMBH of Cricket which is the only trophy left in SACHIN's cabinet. Till then we can keep praying for him, and feel jubilant that we never had to bowl to him (though my heart says, even being thrashed by his bat would have been an honor.)
